Decoloring Agent, PAC and PAM Dosing Sequence
The right dosing order can reduce chemical waste and improve settling in colored industrial wastewater treatment.
Common Test Sequence
- Adjust wastewater pH to a suitable range if necessary.
- Add water decoloring agent and mix quickly.
- Add PAC if coagulation support is needed.
- Add diluted PAM slowly to grow larger flocs.
Why Sequence Matters
- Different wastewater reacts differently with cationic decolorizer and coagulants.
- Wrong sequence may increase dosage or reduce clarity.
- Jar test helps choose the best sequence before site trial.
What to Record
- Dosage of each chemical in ppm.
- Mixing speed, settling time and sludge volume.
- Supernatant color, turbidity and COD trend.
